Typically autumn or spring is the best time to cut hedges. However a healthy hedge can be cut at any time. Maintenance pruning can be done all year round.
We recommend to cut most hedges once or twice a year to promote healthy growth and thickening of the hedge. New hedges should be pruned from an early stage to establish a shape and prevent leggy, unhealthy growth. Once the hedge is established, regular maintenance will ensure it keeps healthy and neat.
